Gift Aid R68(i) Form Changes

Posted: 27 Jul 2012 01:19 PM PDT

There have been a few calls recently to Support on changes to this form, so this post is to hopefully clarify the situation.

HMRC have made changes to the form that accompanies the list of payments for tax claim when sending the claim to HMRC.  The list of payments to be included in the claim can be produced in Raiser's Edge via Reports, Gift Aid Reports, Generate R68 (New Gift Aid) Report.

The report produced by Raiser's Edge remains unchanged by HMRC.

See the HMRC web site for more information about using the new R68(i) Form.

As you will see from this page, it is important that the new form is used from 06 June 2012 onwards, otherwise HMRC will be in touch with you and may potentially reject your claim and ask that you re-submit with the correct form.

You can download the new R68(i) form from HMRC web site, if you have not already done so.

Another point that has recently been raised is the requirement to now send the claim on disc.

Please note that the information on the R68(i) form advises that the claim may be sent on disc, not that it must be sent on disc, therefore if you prefer to continue printing the report and sending to HMRC, with the accompanying new R68(i) form then this is  still acceptable to HMRC.

Finally, another item on HMRC web site that you may find helpful: Help Sheet 9: How to I claim Gift Aid

The schedule referred to on this help sheet is the report produced from the R68 (New Gift Aid) Report option in The Raiser's Edge and, as mentioned above, that report has not changed.
